Re: Spring Polespear Tournament San Marcos River

What's the water temp like there?

How deep are most of these spots also? Really never done any diving in a river.

Also, is the 6' requirement the overall length or does a 6' polespear with a 12-18" tip meet the standards?

Thanks.

Re: Spring Polespear Tournament San Marcos River

72° Year round!!! Crystal clear water

I believe that in the deep holes the river does not get much deeper than 12 ft. Ive gotten most of my fish in shallower water.

Im not sure on the spear length. Nick the organizer could tell you via FB. No one is out there with a tape measure, its the honor system.

The pic shows the endangered/protected Texas Wild Rice that grows only in the San Marcos River. Participants are expected to not dammage the grass should they choose to get grassy.
