New Mako AR15 82cm Prototype
It's striped bass season up here on Fisher's Island. I teach windsurfing, kayaking, stand up paddling, surfing etc to kids all summer. During my off time I spear stripers...a lot. I asked Dano at Mako spearguns to custom make me a 82cm TinMan AR15 gun for stripers and holy smokes this thing is deadly. Laser accurate and powerful. Super stoked on the performance of the gun. I think there might be a roller gun modification in the future...

Dano is awesome. Nice striper gun, nice striper.
How did you pick that length? Did you get open or enclosed track? |

Nice bass bro. Def modify it with a roller. I ditched all my traditional band guns and went with the Spetton Elipticals 85cm and 95cm. Deadly accurate, quiet and no recoil.

Re: New Mako AR15 82cm Prototype
Aquamax, I've used a 75 before, and I've used a 90 up here and I figured that a good all around gun that's still maneuverable enough for the ridiculous current I spear in would be just about 80cm. I also didn't want it too big for when I modify it as a roller. I've been out here for a week now. My striped bass count is 13 and climbing. Last time out I gave a fat one to a Jamaican worker out here on the island. Fish make people smile!

Glad to hear you're digging the new gun.
Cool photo too, but the tail in that fish looks really odd. Is it just a weird angle or was it a deformation?

Habitat, I think the tail was just stuck to my leg or something. Totally normal fish.

Re: New Mako AR15 82cm Prototype
I don't know. Seems like a Photoshop fail to me. Probably a 28" striper computer edited. On an off note, I've seen johns custom mako and the thing is a tank. Build quality is nuts.
