Re: 28 Morgan sailboat

I would consider class 111 weapons or a Harley in trade(no sportsters)or a long range rifle in 50 bmg or 338 Lapua.

Re: 28 Morgan sailboat

I forgot to mention the boat comes with a Cruisair A/C unit for at the dock or anchor if you have a little generator. It cooled a 34 ft sailboat in Floridah so its plent of unit for the job.

Re: 28 Morgan sailboat

I see a big fuel bill in your future. Wind is free. But, wife matters. I understand your choice. No fun to sail alone.

Maybe a trawler/sailer like this one: http://ipy.com/yachts/sp-cruiser/

Re: 28 Morgan sailboat

My wife and I have kicked around the idea of a retirement trawler adventure. I don't sail but a nice size trawler with small, naturally asperated diesels make for some pretty cheap mobility at displacement speeds. You could also consider a hybrid cat as an option that would still allow you to harness the wind but the ones I've seen are a little pricey.

She likes the Gemini cat which we were looking at purchasing before the economy crapped. Now we are looking at used Bayliner 3870/3888s and some trawlers without turbos.Im not rich so we will be looking at economy and an older boat in the mid to late 80sAlso need the extra bedroom and head for the youngest son.Upside is the fishing and diving ability of the boats we are looking at and a 900 mile range on 300 gallons of fuel if you cruise SLOW.I make a vegetable oil blend for my diesel truck for about a dollar a gallon including the filters to process the used oil.

Hybrid cats are for rich people not rednecks that work for a livingSailing isn't that hard.I learned and haven't sank the dock or the boat yet.Trawlers Ill admit have a lot more room than a comparable sailboat but you cant beat the feel of shutting off the motor, kicking back and traveling quiet and for free.
