Yes there sure is. To tell it right would take a long narrative and I don't want to hijack this thread and there seems to be no appropriate forum heading for that story. Suffice to say it was not a good day. 10 stitches, nicked tendon, nerve damage, fractured wrist, one seriously pissed off shark. I can only say that luckily I was NOT using my Ulusub because the gun took the brunt of the bite.

Re: Ulusub Spearfishing Co. New Speargun Range

Hi Frank,

I have some 150MH here in the shop. Also have 12 new smaller guns ie 110, 120 Mid handles and Rear Handles all reverse mech.

P Dub, damn I keep forgetting to ship those pins. They are pretty simple 1/4" stainless. I'll get them out. Fractured wrist? Tendon damage. That doesn't sound good. I severed tendons and required 55 stitches just from a dead Unicorn Fish (Kala) imagine a pissed off shark would be a far worse foe. Hope it wasn't your sewing hand..

Hello Jon,

Any thoughts of a roller Ulusub in the future?

Re: Ulusub Spearfishing Co. New Speargun Range

Ulusub made some Rollerguns @ 10 years ago, and we made some nice ones with a good simple 2 stage, single band design. The thing was, with a wall full of guns to choose from when I would go diving, I'd always opt for a standard band gun. I did make some good shots using the Roller guns, but for whatever reason, always was drawn towards the standard guns when it meant I was swimming out with one gun. There might be a reason to make a Rollergun for around here though.. a Tog/Bass gun where you could load down for Tog and Load up for Bass. But, that's also easy enough with one band or two.. I did make 12 guns in the past two weeks, 11 of them are smaller guns for the North East. Some of those are Rear Handles, some are Mid Handles. All reverse mechs. I also made a 140RH. I'll think about the Rollers. I have a really nice design for them, but it's a lot of work as it mixes wood and composites and metal and rollers..

Re: Ulusub Spearfishing Co. New Speargun Range

I can imagine that you would make a pretty clean looking roller Jon. I have played around with a couple rollers and had the exact same feeling that you had...appreciated the lower recoil but spent twice as long restringing/reloading. No doubt the benefit in range is there IF they are designed, made, and used correctly. I have seen a couple custom makers on this forum who I would love to give their rollers a go and Ulusub would fit into that category if it was possible, but I have a feeling I would keep going back to simple.

Jon, now it is time to put up a website with an online store so that I can be impulsive and buy up all your inventory when the cold fronts start rolling through and I am stuck on dry land.

Definitely, because I am ready to get my hands on some of your slip tips, too.

Indeed it was the sewing hand, Shooting hand and actually luckily so. If I didn't have the gun in hand to take the brunt, I shudder to think... I'd have to become a right handed shooter.
I will look for the pins in the mail. Thanks.

Jon, any chance you can put some pics up of the 110 and 120 mid handles? I need one, are they ready to ship?

Jon,

How are we looking on the El Bandito build? Any projected completion date for my order?

You get your slip-tips in? I was looking for one a while back when I picked up my 130mh.
