the Importance of: Shot Placement

A couple clips from a recent dive off Fort Pierce in about 80 feet.

Re: the Imp[ortance of: Shot Placement

I think it had nothing to do with shot placement but that the success of that 2nd shot was due to that big grunt you let out as you shot. Nothing funner than an AJ rodeo.

It looks like you were holding onto the bands with your right hand on the 1st shot. That probably had influence on both the accuracy of the shot as well as shaft velocity/penetration.

Yeah I know I use poor technique when I am pointing rather than aiming the gun.

Re: the Imp[ortance of: Shot Placement

Flight of the Valkyries was a great song choice for the first shot. I was expecting more drama! I don't think the AJ could pull you around very much. Some may be due to "svelte and graceful" or whatever it was you named one of your other clips. Some may be that you are a swimming dive store.

I have no idea how you effectively hunt with a scooter, zookeeper, pole spear, and speargun. AND Still had a hand on the trigger and the other on the bands. Extra hand trick like Mission Impossible? You are able to do it though, so that is pretty cool. If I have a flopper flipping around it irritates me and affects my aim and focus. I keep the spares tucked in to gun side.

Clip #2 was way more effective, but much more boring for video, so at least we got the grunt!! Thanks for posting. Stuck onshore this weekend due to weather, so will be a bit boring and glad to have your video to purvey Jim!

Thanks for the comments, I was diving somewhat streamlined because I was not pulling a dive float on a reel on that dive.. we were diving smaller spots with no current.
