One band on Pathos laser pro 120?

Anyone using just one band on Pathos (or similar) 120cm? Why or why not?

Re: One band on Pathos laser pro 120?

The gun I built is essentially a Pathos 120cm (bought the CF barrel on Alibaba and saved about $200 from retail putting it together myself). I've set it up with two 14mm small ID and a single 16mm small ID. 7.5mm x 150cm shaft - double wrap with twin bands and single wrap with single band. The single band setup is ideal for reef hunting in my opinion, quick to load, easy to maneuver and has plenty of power and accuracy.

There's another thread discussing the merits of a single small ID band at high stretch but unless you're taking shots on large fish at over 5m then I think a single high stretch small ID band will offer more than enough power if your gun is set up correctly.

Care to share the link to the CF barrel, parts list and a picture of the contraption?

HurricaneBK, one thing I learnt over the years is that putting together a frankengun, unless you already own all (or most) of the bits and pieces... it almost always ends up being more costly than buying the equivalent of-the-shelf gun.

Thanks in andvance!

It came out less because I figured I'd have to replace the shaft that an off the shelf gun came with anyways.

Here's a link to the CF barrels, they'll sell a single one but you have to pay for shipping which basically doubled the cost to around $70 for the barrel I believe.

That's the company I purchased from. Just ask for the length and diameter you want. In retrospect I probably would have bought half a dozen barrels if I'd known how nice the one I ended up getting was but since, like with most things bought on Alibaba, it's a bit of a gamble, I only ordered one.
