Re: Wrist Watches

I used to have that model Sub! It's somewhere out in La Jolla Cove area, lost it in '90. Has my initials and regiment engraved on the back if it's ever found

Nice Luminor, they are workhorses

Re: Wrist Watches

The Rolex Submariner is the perfect watch, in my opinion.

Re: Wrist Watches

The Rolex is a good watch and it has a lot of wow appeal but it doesnt keep good enough time for the price tag IMO.

I looooove the look of a black on black submariner though, one of the most handsome watches ever

Re: Wrist Watches

Seiko automatic diver. I have had it for years, wear it every day and dive with it. If it ever leaks, I will buy another. I am an electrician, and I work in the Petrochemical industry so it gets banged up at work and gets all kind of crap on it. If it quits tomorrow, I have no complaints.

+1, I had my Sub 1000ft date long enough to break a mainspring, and break a spring axel. Both done by simple whacks or dropping it on a hard surface. It consistently lost time, but looked awesome! Could wear it anywhere.

My favs are Panerai and IWC. The Panerai has an incabloc device that really works on hard hits. The IWC is half the size/weight, perfect time, but nothing to look at...sort of like a reliable mutt dog

I should have been more precise- The Rolex Submariner is the perfect (looking) watch, in my opinion.

Re: Wrist Watches

Now that everyone agrees, I'll throw in a ringer

This is what goes in the water most of the time...pre-007 Seamaster. The dings testify to it's hard life! Got this in '90ish to replace the Sub that got lost.

Re: Wrist Watches

OK,
Wondering why people choose a sweeping hand vs a digital,
I prefer digitals, as they provide so many options, and solid state electronics seem more sturdy

Re: Wrist Watches

Deep, dark, narked, low vis and a large very undead fish on the end of a short cable means it has to be readable in an instant, without using a second hand to activate a back light or auxiliary light source. Liquid crystal displays don't meet minimum requirements, and LED displays eat too much power.

Re: Wrist Watches

The more I study why people use analog vs digital watches the more complicated it gets, and the less anyone agrees on the reasoning

Re: Wrist Watches

I got to say that the rolex sub is the most over rated watch ever produced. I am not saying its a bad watch, just one that people hype because its the only expensive watch they have ever heard of.
This is one of my favorites.

This is my go to

With a little class
