Re: 2005 Hell Divers?
The pic of the 20 # red snapper, I was looking at your gun and saw a small bungie between the reel and the shaft, it looks like a bungie used as a line keeper for a gun without a reel. Is this that I am seeing ? Nice looking fish I am sure they are great eating. Looks like a big rock cod from Calif.

Re: 2005 Hell Divers?
Stinkey,
You are correct. That is the bungie/shock cord that comes with the gun. You really don't need to use the one that comes with the gun. You can use 1/8" bungie to hold the line. You only have to make certain that you connect the reel line to the line or cable that is attached to the shaft. Do not rely on the bungie for anything but holding the line in place. Red Snapper are very good eating. However I do like the smaller ones better? Chad Carney probably snapped that photo of me? |

Re: 2005 Hell Divers?
Yeah, I can operate most any camera and take a picture without my finger over the lens.
If I look tired holding up my snapper in the shot David finally took of me, it's because it was about the 7th attempt after a photographically challenged buddy gave up. David can flat out shoot fish, with or without tanks! Even after his ears were pretty screwed up. Chad

Re: 2005 Hell Divers?
P,
That's a Competition 3X. I shot a Standard 4 for Scuba and a Baja for Freediving in Open Water. I have two 3X's rigged with a reel. They are sweet. 9/32 or 5/16 flopper shafts really fly! The biggest fish landed to date with one is a 40# AJ Skindiving. I hope to break that this year. By far those are my favorite guns! I won a Riffe Hawaiian (Mid Handle #3?). I plan to keep it and rig it for Skindiving as well. Chad, As you get time, send me the photo with my King Mac. I'll send photos I have of you soon as well. |
