Talking Take a kid spearfishing, please?

Hi, I'm some random 18 year old kid who lives in lakes country Minnesota who really wants to get into the sport of spearfishing. I've never been spearfishing before and really want to try it. The problem is, I don't know anyone who spearfishes, so I have no one to be my spearfishing sensei and teach me the art. I would be willing to try it on my own except that I have no clue where to look for bullheads and other rough fish and I'm also afraid that I could get myself into a bad situation if I try it by myself. With all that said, would any accomplished spear fisherman who happen to live in the DL area be willing to deal with me for a day and take me spearfishing? I'll mow your lawn and have my dad buy you beer as payment for the good time and knowledge. Its a win win for everybody.

Yes, but I'm pretty sure its only for rough fish, Carp, Bullheads, etc. I know that there are about 1,000 lakes within a 30 min drive from my house all teaming with spearfishing opportunity. If only I had someone to help fulfill those opportunities.
