Re: Best GoPro?
Go with the hero HD. The lower resolution model does not allow you to attach the LCD BacPac to it.

Re: Best GoPro?
I don't have one, but I've heard that you should get a flat lens (aftermarket conversion) for any underwater filming. If you don't, then only the center of the frame looks "in sharp focus."
I think Mako Spearguns sells a version, and there are other sources too. |

Re: Best GoPro?
I would go with the GoPro HD Hero Naked version. Do not buy the 960. It is missing the 720p @ 60fps, 1080p video, and the HERO BUS expansion port in the rear of the camera that will let you take advantage of GoPro’s BacPac accessories. All of the GoPros are the same except for the 960. The reason they cost more has to do with the attachments(accessories) they come with for mounting. Unless you don't care about what I just mentioned, then go with the 960 if you're on a budget. As for me, I purchased the HD Hero Naked in combination with an aftermarket flat lens and tripod mount.
A flat lens is necessary if you want to achieve crystal clear video, weather permitting of course. There are several companies that manufacture flat lenses. Oculus R5, EyeofMine and Blurfix are a few worth mentioning. I chose the Blurfix because of the different types of lenses/filters one could attach on the housing. This video is a great comparison film if you need a little persuasion. Gopro vs 3 underwater Focus fixes and filter test - YouTube |

Re: Best GoPro?
HD with Mako polycarbonate flat lens mounted on your head.Gun mount videos don't show the hunt as well.I've heard there are glass lenses coming out which allow filters as well,I'll be getting one.
Case is good to at least 170' as I have a lot of raw video in the 150' to 170' range.

Re: Best GoPro?
I have the 1080 in the Mako housing with the flat lens. I mounted it on a helmet, and am very pleased with it. I would not get anything less than the 1080.
