2015 gun mounted light / go pro / handle kill spike / shark spike /spare shaft thread

Fellas, please post pics of your light mounts, go pro mounts, combo go pro light mounts, links, pricing, experiences, reviews etc.

I'd like this to be the definitive thread on gun mounted awesomeness, mainly focused on lights & gopro. It can be where to buy or diy with instructions.

Inspired by unsuccessful googling all morning looking for this cheap universal pipe gun light mount I found a few months ago but didn't have the cash for at the time and running into too many old threads.

thanks in advanced for making this yet another great thread.

Re: 2015 gun mounted light / go pro / handle kill spike / shark spike /spare shaft th

I saw a Styrofoam light mount, anyone have one they made or any advice on making one?

Also saw a post by TinMan, he has a bad ass gun with a handle and muzzle kill spike, plastic light mount he can somehow slide back and says is better them aluminum.

TinMan or anyone else, can you please post pics or even better a video?

If nothing else this thread should answer what's the best universal light mount for my gun type and what's the best budget light mount and where can i get it?

Thanks men

Re: 2015 gun mounted light / go pro / handle kill spike / shark spike /spare shaft th

"Better" depends on what your priorities are, but I do like the plastic light mounts for exactly the reason that you mentioned. I keep it back at the handle most of the time, where it doesn't affect the balance of the gun or tend to get tangled in the shooting line, but I can quickly slide it to the muzzle when needed. I 3D printed a couple of them at Shapeways.com where I think they were about $25 each.

I also recently found the "Ultimate Arms" tactical light mount for shotguns. It is intended to fit 1" diameter lights, and without the removable spacer, it fits 28mm barrels pretty well. It doesn't clamp as securely on larger barrels like Rob Allen. It doesn't feel quite as solid as the 3D printed ones, but for $11, it's pretty hard to beat as a "budget" approach. You would probably want to swap out the carbon steel clamping screw for a stainless one, though. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rifle-Shotgu...-/390742607122

As Tin Man said, light mounted toward the muzzle affect gun balance and make it very muzzle heavy.

Not the best video, but this shows how quick and easy it is to remove and replace the camera from the MAKO gun mount. PLEASE don't point a loaded speargun at anyone.

That's a long way back on a speargun for a Go Pro (on the Denton)... Will make even enormous fish appear tiny... Far forward as possible I've always found the best

This is true, but this is also where I put mine with the Mako side-arm mount on my pipe guns.

It makes the fish initially look small... But it also makes your shot look MASSIVE / long and you look like a sniper hero!

When you get the fish in, you spin the gun around and get a shot of you and your fish with a "selfie stick".
