With all due respect Max, I differ,
Ex’s are the most dangerous places on God’s earth to go diving.

Yeah but no thanks.
You all can have all the caves & holes to yourselves.

Re: Most Dangerous Dives in the World

I disagree also..but I am coming from a commercial diving point of view.
Diving in a 36" dia intake pipe that extends hundreds of feet into lake Michigan, to clear it of zebra mussels and have to back all the way out when you are finished, all the time being unable to make an emergency accent and worried that your partner is still standing by the electrical disconnect that runs the huge motor that sucks in the cooling water...( used to cool industrial equipment, and/or for the raw water supply that is filtered as drinking water for the many city's on the great lakes)
Or the F'n HUGE Chemical vat that starts eating off the protective suit you are wearing..the moment you enter...
or the shit hole, and I do mean shit hole, that you have to go into ( for the city sewage treatment plant) in order to clear a jammed grinder...
But..on occasion there are the good jobs, working in zero vis cutting steel cable off tugs in the Chicago River,
And I could go on....But..
Those you listed are Pleasure Dives!

I'm sorry...I'm not talking about my diving. I used to mfg custom wet suits Dry suits and other equipment. I did work for allot of commercial divers...and at one time they did make big money, but that has all changed.

No, the divers i dealt with were all "outside contractors" ...not Gov Employees.

That being said, commercial divers used to be Very Highly paid, but not so much any anymore.
