Hazy headlights
Bought the wife a used Lexus and the headlights were a little hazy.I bought the little kit you get in the auto part stores with the sanding pads and cleaner. It did look a lot better but not like new.
Gun forum had a thread and one poster mentioned Deep Woods OFF with Deet!Like new after less than 5 minutes of spray and wiping clean! When it stops raining I will try it on the Catamaran windshield. No sanding and no buffing!

Re: Hazy headlights
Been using Deep Woods for years on head lights. I spray it heavy and wipe it off just before it starts to dry. You have to do it a couple of times with the clean side of a rag. Once, you stop getting that yellow/gold color on the rag. You're done, till about 6 months later in the Florida sun. The higher percentage of deet the better the cleaning.

Re: Hazy headlights
Great info.
Don't get that deet on any plastic like material. It'll melt it. I know a person who's new vehicle interior got all messed up due to it. The people rub it on themselves then handled the interior parts. BTW, has anyone tried the toothpaste gimmick? I wasn't too impressed with the kit Obli speaks of, either.

Re: Hazy headlights
Depending on how bad it is, I've typically wet sanded with 800 to 2000 grit sandpaper, then buffed with rubbing compound, then polishing compound, and finished with Maguire's Plastix. If I just use the Plastix every couple of months, then have no follow up issues at all.
I bought an 8 year old vehicle last year that looks like new using this process.

Re: Hazy headlights
I've used brake fluid to good effect with an old t-shirt as buffing/cleaning rag. Small circles and don't hit the paint. All by hand and takes about a cold beer per light. Will try the Plastix to preserve the polished & cleaned finish.

Re: Hazy headlights
Headlights started getting stains inside the housingChanged the front and back lights, added a 2" lift and new shocks.
Still cheaper than the new truck payment. Probably doing neoprene seat covers and replacing the carpet with the rubber flooring and soundproofing it with rubber mat next month. Going to be my cheap get away vehicle to surf/paddleboard or fish

Re: Hazy headlights
Went to the local bike shop to get some F-11 spray to detail my bike.Owner recommended Beadmaker and to order online.Said it lasts longer and was a lot cheaper at 34 bucks a GALLON.
I used a half pint in a spray bottle on my brothers car,my Colorado, wifes Lexus and the Road King.A week later water was still beading good and washing is a LOT easier. Just did the outside of the hull on my Carolina Skiff even though its was recently waxed it did shine better. Average car takes 20-30 minutes to do.Spray a mist on vehicle and a microfiber towel and apply evenly. After application use another Microfiber towel to buff.No need for hard buffing just wipe evenly. Its not a miracle product but it makes cleaning a LOT easier and quicker since bugs, dirt, pollen and water don't stick to the surface.I wouldn't put it on a boat deck but everywhere else is getting a coat.Imagine Dolphin blood easily sprayed away
