Out of JP 3-25-19
Went with some friends to do some king fishing and the 2 of them diving. They did 2 dives in 60' on ledges. Horz. vis. was 30'-35' both places about 3 miles apart. Bottom temp. was 68F. according to both computers. Fish seen were on the small size. Especially, the hogfish. Second spot had lots of "baby" hogs and gags. Guess, lots of anglers are fishing for hogfish. They did get 2 decent hogs and a big slipper lobster. Scott, that got the slipper. Saw a gag in the 16-18 lb. range swim in to watch the event from about 3' away. We put a few decent kings in the boat out there during their surface interval. By the way. I see that recreational Amberjack will stay closed to till August 1. Instead of opening May 1. Seems the quota was exceeded last year.

Re: Out of JP 3-25-19
Thanks for the report. We're looking to get out this weekend. We were out a couple weeks ago and had similar conditions in that depth out of Clearwater. Shallow (35 feet), while green had better visibility but was all sheepshead and small mangos.

Yep Sunday looks nice. Hopefully we luck into a few nice hogs. Nice time of year for slippers too like your guys found.
