Editing Software?

So I have 100's of hours of raw footage building up on my harddrive, but know absolutely nothing about editing. anyone want help me choose some software? I spend a lot of time in very remote locations over winter, perfect time to play on the laptop.

Re: Editing Software?

Most high end editing software is rather expensive. You could always make a video with cheesy cuts and changes with the windows stock program.

I would recommend to skip paying a couple hundred beans for a program and torrent it. You could easily get the entire adobe cs6 suite for free in a hour.

Not everyone has the same vantage point or morals I do, but paying that much for software is a little ridiculous. Especially for a film student, which I am. Just graduated actually. Anywho, enough ranting..I would recommend Adobe premiere and after effects. I use that when I use my pc. It is on par with final cut, well the older version anyways..final cut X blows.

Im positive there are free programs that could suit you perfectly fine. Just give it a google search. I just gave you a top of the line program.

I hope i don't get banned for endorsing piracy..

Re: Editing Software?

Buy the cloud version of Adobe Premiere CS6 for $50 a month or $20 a month if you are a student.

That way you will get the updates constantly.

The educational videos are very good, but there certainly is a learning curve.

Here is a link to the standard version for $50 a month:

You can always download a trial of Adobe CS6 or get Sony Vegas for trial as well.
