Thumbs up Amberjack Season 2017

A few thoughts on upcoming season! Dive safe, work together, and no fish is worth your life! Looking for a dream trip? Contact www.texasbluewatersafaris.com I have had some epic adventures on the Southern Cross! Always be careful! I can't stress enough if a shot isn't proper there will be a battle! These fish are powerful! If your loosing let him go! Always remember where your gear is i.e. floatlines, other divers, reel line! Triple check your dive gear if your on scuba! Typically this time of year these beasts are closer to the surface! But that doesn't mean they won't return to the deeper waters of the rig! Amberjack are a powerful fish! And can yank you down fast! I know, about 5 years ago I almost died! That said know your limits! Dive safe with buddy's! And have extra gear! These fish can bend shafts, take guns, and drag you all over a rig! Hope everyone is able to safely enjoy the 2017 AJ season! We will be!

Re: Amberjack Season 2017

Hope everyone gets some calm seas and good fish! Double check your tuna clips. They're $5 and will save you the fish of a lifetime. This happened to me last winter on a 100~lb fish freediving with a bungee on a deep bluewater rig.
