I'm not sure if where we were, was on the website. Dont know the area too well.

It was a bridge that had been scattered into like 3 piles of structure.

Down to 60' to check under the structure for grouper. Huge schools of AJs and Crevale from top to bottom.

Anyone been out so far this week? It would be great if the viz stayed.

Also is this rip charts thing worth it for determining visibility?

thanks

Re: Need some advice on spearing out of suwannee

Thanks for your inquiries about (and support of!) RipCharts

We have a lot of spearfishermen using the RipCharts service. Our true color and chlorophyll maps can provide a lot of information on water color and clarity offshore. Below is a map (true color/chlor hybrid) from a few days ago showing the water clarity and color out where the Suwannee enters the Gulf.

True color and chlorophyll can be impacted by weather/clouds, but when you get a clear shot of the water, it can reveal a lot about where clean water is/isn't.

We also have sst, altimetry, bathymetry, and currents to help one plan a strategy when going offshore.

Please let me know if I can help or answer any questions.

That's pretty awesome. What inputs are you manipulating in order to create the image?
I live just south of Tampa Bay. Fortunate to have much clearer water most of the time.

Went out a few days ago a little North. It's 30ft viz in 50 and 66 degrees. Very shootable, I'd imagine it was better before the last windy front that came through.
