Kentucky Lake

Hello,

Does any one have experience spearing within Kentucky state lines? I live in STL and usally drive down to Lake Norfork, Bull Shoals or Table Rock (Arkansas) during the summer to get my spearfishing fix, however the last few years have been pretty poor. With all the rain visibility is at best 15ft. Not good being that reports in the past have said vis is easly 40+. 15ft isn't a problem but it would be nice to have good vis.

Kentucky Lake is only 4 hrs from here, so its a viable alternative to the AR lakes. Does any know how the visibility typcially is, are the rough fish abundent, etc. Any information would be better that what i have now.

Thanks for your help.

I learned how to water ski on Lake Cumberland, don't know about the legalities, but there are the stories of six foot cat fish around the dam. Those are dry counties down there.

I live nearby and the water is generally way too Murky. It may be clear in some places or times, but when i've been there, it's been less than a foot viz. Dale hollow is the place to go.

Re: Kentucky Lake

I'm on my boat at green turtle bay harbor on lake Berkley right now and it's pretty murky. Going to untie the lines and head to KY lake in an hour or so when the wife is ready. I'll check some areas there and see if I can find any clear water.

Re: Kentucky Lake

Wish I could SJ but right now I'm crazy busy with work and getting the house ready to sell, the wife and I are going to move on our sailboat. I've got the first two weeks of July off to move and might be able to spare a day or two if you can get a group then.
