Re: budget bluewater build

You might want to get a spear with a screw on tip, and make that a long slip tip. Otherwise you should be OK. Eventually you will want a longer gun, some fish such as Wahoo dont seem to come close, they hang out far away, and you will need to get long shots, and a longer gun gets it out there. Both Dolphin and Bonita circle around you and come close when you chum, so you should be good.

Re: budget bluewater build

ive done all my bw to date with a 130 railgun, you can land some nice fish besides bonita with it. (although i have a custom gun being built now)

75ft bungee? so no float line just bungee?

i like to use a very small "shock float" in front of my main float with a bungee connecting the two (and bungee infront of the shock float)...this puts a small bit of pressure on the fish to tire it out faster but still letting it run and do its thing,

oh and the most important thing you need for bluewater...patience. get ready to get skunked alot
