Striped Bass Fishing Rules Change Poll

CT DEEP sent out a poll regarding rules changes for limits on striped bass. This will probably go out in RI and NY too. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CTStripedBass2019

In comments at end of survey, I posted this. CT guys, add responsible comments too, as you fill out survey.

I primarily spear-fish in RI and NY waters. I take 2-3 striped bass per year. I would very much like to spend my recreational fishing dollars in CT, if CT would allow responsible spear-fishing of striped bass and its ban to be lifted. I can concur that the regional spear-fishing community is quite small, tight-knit, and eco-responsible. As we sight fish, we generally release "before" we catch. And we keep and eat every fish we catch. Unlike many anglers who stress fish out by "trading-up" to increase their bounty. Please consider lifting the spear-fishing ban in CT

Re: Striped Bass Fishing Rules Change Poll

I saw that and posted the desire to spear stripe bass in ct. Also thought a 22-28 inch slot limit was a good way to ensure that adult bass stay in the breeding pool. I see lots of 20-30 pound bass but usually shoot 10 pounders, fewer pcb's in small fish.
