Custom shafts from spearcrafters

I just got my first batch of custom shafts from spearcrafters and I have to say they look very nice. 2 @ 155cm x 7.5mm for the pathos with highly optimized fins and resting tab placed at 20" and 2 @ 42" x 9/32" mini sharkfins for the biller. Rich was a real pleasure to deal with while I was working out exactly what I wanted. I can't wait to shoot them and see how they perform. The only the I am not sure about is the cone portion on the biller shafts. As you can see it is a one peice cone and point that slips over the original tip. They seem heavy duty but my concern is if it gets damaged to a point that it needs to be replaced, how hard are they to get off and is there ever a chance of it coming off while hunting? Im assuming there is another point under there. Does anyone else have any experience with spearcrafters or this style of cone?

That is actually a cone that fits over the shaft and not a separate piece. The cones are 17-4 heat treated and so precision that they appear to be different than they are.

Ok Rich, thanks for letting me know. After looking closer I see that is in fact the case. Thanks again for the great transaction and spears by the way!

Re: Custom shafts from spearcrafters

That is the optimal setup for a Pathos 120 ... 7.5mm and 155cm ... you need to mod the handle for that power though. This also will be way too much power if shooting at close range and into rocks ... so if planning to shoot at distances of 4m or less you should use a softer loading or maybe a lighter shaft.
