Went out Sunday morning in East Malibu.
Was greeted with blue skies and sunshine, very little wind and calm seas (despite some forecasted swell).
However visibility was poor... about 5' in most beds, with pockets up to 8' or 9' tops.

Nothing seen or heard.

Re: Malibu Conditions Permathread

I went out today around 12
Pm, viz was around 10' or less, on my second dive at around 8' of water I dove on top of the biggest wsb I have ever seen! I don't know how many pounds but it was huge! It just swam under me with no worries at all, I pointed my gun at it and came to my senses...my big gun is at the factory so I was using my little Omer 75 looking for reef fish

Saw two more schools of legals with about 4-5 fish each and two short ones on the way out of tqhe water.

Went out to Leo yesterday at noon. Viz was poor, about 10 or less at best and got worse the further out I went. Didnt see a single fish.

Bands of red tide south of the pier. Green otherwise.

Re: Malibu Conditions Permathread

Had a nice dive with another SB member today somewhere between the Malibu Pier and the MPA. Vis was about 10-feet. Lots of little fish were seen, including some short WSB, but no legals. A pod of dolphins buzzed us in the kelp, which was pretty cool. If the surf and the wind continue to lay low I'd recommend hitting it.

Dove Leo at 6am today. Viz was a very poor, hazy 5-6ft with slight surge. Only one small Cabezon shot for breakfast.

Not really malibu but anyway...

Dove big rock today and i was greeted by 15'-20' of vis. There was a lot of life, i ended up shooting a nice Calico.

Saw some school short wsb in 10ft of water that were just cruising around. heard a bunch of croaking, but i didnt see any big wsb.

found something too, if you have lost anything at Big rock lately pls pm me.

All in all a good day.

Cheers,
Cj

Drove by there on my way to Paradise Cove for a non-diving family event. Conditions looked epic the whole way from Big Rock on up. Glad you had a good dive.
