Home made cooler
I saw the post on the home made coolers and thought I'd add this. I'm sorry I only have one picture - a picture of the inside would probably be useful. I built two of these over the winter. Approximately 10 feet^3 internal. Two inches of board foam walls and floor three inches on the top. 1/4" Luan underlayment inside and out with sides and corners pine strips cut from (obsessively selected) 2x6s. The interior is sealed with epoxy and the outside is exterior grade house paint. I have a little over $100 wrapped up in both of them. Although I already had the paint and epoxy. They will keep ice for at least four days. I don't count the shop time in the cost since hiding in the shop saves me money on therapy.
I have no idea why the picture is sideways- I've dinked with it and it refuses to cooperate. I guess I'm just not tech savvy. Last edited by jfjf; 07-18-2015 at 11:09 AM. |

Re: Home made cooler
Nice. I wish I was so lucky. My wife still finds me though. 2 x 6s? Sounds heavy.

Re: Home made cooler
Ballpark of 30 pounds - but it's a little too square and a little too long for one person my size to carry. If I was the 6' 3" that my dating profile claims I might have enough wingspan to carry it by myself .

Re: Home made cooler
I've tried a couple of times to post some inside pictures. I guess it's because I'm using my phone. Im gonna try again since I'm sitting in an airport bored out of my mind.
