Rules for shore dive spearing?

Hey fellow spearfisherman , I am planning on going spearing after May 1st and I know so far you have to be 100 yards from the beach but i am planning on spearfishing dania beach ero jacks and possibly off hollywood beach. What are the rules for spearing in these locations and are they good spots? Also what if i plan on using a kayak off the shore or a very very small boat run by an electric troll motors.

Just to be clear, the Florida law is 100 yards from a "designated swimming beach" not all beaches/ shoreline. Also each county or city may have their own specific rules which you can find by going to Florida fwc- saltwater fishing- recreational regulations- full text by rule - local laws and download the pdf with local regulations. http://www.myfwc.com/fishing/saltwat...es-by-species/

Re: Rules for shore dive spearing?

I believe if you go out off Dania go out on the North side of the pier and stay away from the fishing lines from the pier. Don’t go off John Lloyd Park or the ranger might get you if he’s sees you speargun. If you kayak once you go out your good to go anywhere just coming back in Stay on the north side of the pier. If you do Hollywood we used to go off Meade st which is between Dania Beach and Sheridan St. hope this helps.

Re: Rules for shore dive spearing?

Do NOT try and spear from the state park. It is illegal. You can launch your yak from the north side of the pier as scott said, then take it to the ero jacks. Just don't step on state park land with the spear gun. You can launch from all of hollywood as far as I know. These are all good shore diving locations.
