Newbie here, mostly going to be spearfishing in Bimini

Since I'll be doing most of the spearing in the Bahamas, guns aren't allowed, so I was thinking about the Hawaiian slings. But they don't have string or something to retrieve it after shooting the fish, is there some way to modify the shaft to have some sort of retrieval system other than chasing after the fish??

Don't forget about polespears. They are easy to use, won't get lost and kill a lot of great fish. If you are really set on using a Hawaiian sling but don't think you can get the shaft once you speared the fish, the Headhunter guerrilla sling can be used in conjunction with a reel and line. I have not used the system but it looks pretty great. It is the only sling I have seen that works with a shooting line. Go to the headhunter website or talk to Brad.

Thanks man, I'll look into the guerrilla sling and pole spears!
