Sarasota 30'-40' report

Headed out of venice early this morning and made our first stop at Silvertooth where the vis was maybe 10' at best. Decided to do some H&L action, caught a few gags but no keepers. The seas were calming down as the day progressed so we moved offshore a little further to the M - reefs in 40'. Same story with a few short gags but there were some big boys down there that kept breaking us off, possibly jewfish. After re-rigging our lines countless times we decided to troll around the area for some kings, ended up getting a 10 pounder and a yellowjack. Once the vis clears up a bit I will be heading back out there for some freediving.

Re: Sarasota 30'-40' report

I am not sure exactly what particular reef we were on, my buddy got the gps numbers off his phone while we were at Silvertooth. It was about 7 miles west of silvertooth if I remember correctly. We were the only boat out there for awhile then we got smashed by 5 other boats. I did see a few gags get put in the cooler by the other boats but we wernt as lucky I guess.

Re: Sarasota 30'-40' report

Lets keep the sarasota/venice reports coming. Even if its just date, vis, water temp. I should be getting out once or twice a week when the weather is nice. I'll be sure to post results often.
