Freediving comp in Kona, Hawaii
I went summer 2015 to a freediving competition in Kona without knowing anyone, made some awesome friends and was recently back there for instructor training and a US Men's no fins record attempt, made possible by the local Kona freedive community...
Coming up in February, Shell Eisenberg is organizing a pool comp, the Kikaha Apnea Competition 2017. This comp would be a terrific excuse to spend some time in Kona (besides numerous free to public pools, we're talking 360 days a year of 100'+ viz, 80F water, calm seas) and meet world class divers--many of them national record holders who ALSO spear. https://m.facebook.com/events/1642946829331574/ And for fun, some stills from the 236' (72M) no fins dive in Kona last weekend (photos by Kurt Chambers, @chambersbelow): Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk
