Re: Thoughts on Abellan Albacore 130 vs Bleutec Oceanborn 125 & King Cobra

Billy there's plenty of video guns I've built shooting. Just look it up. But quit dodging the questions. Have you ever built a gun or videoed any kind of testing? Do you pee standing up?

Fortunately my image here doesn't affect how much $$ goes into my bank account. Can't say the same for a few others

Is that your best? Mate.. I'm all for the litmus test. You want to be involved in Speargun Design and Performance conversations. Don't just be an anonymous sniveler. Add something of substance.

Re: Thoughts on Abellan Albacore 130 vs Bleutec Oceanborn 125 & King Cobra

I'll reply because it looks like I'm the only one on here (maybe outside of Madj) that has done extensive pool work with my team on Ulusub 140/155/172, OB 125/145 and Abellan 120/130/140.

Here it is: THEY ARE ALL GREAT GUNS!!!

I shoot Ulusubs now, one of my team shoots OB and two shoot Abellan. We all have similar performance and it just comes down to personal preference. I'm sorry I didn't video tape all our sessions this but take it for what it is worth that you will not go wrong buying any one of these guns.

As for other guns, we've bailed on Wong/Riffe/Aimrite/Sea Sniper because we didn't want to spend the time to dial them in and weren't getting the results we wanted with small adjustments. They are all fine guns too, just we didn't want to invest the work to dial them in for us. The Ulusubs/OB/Abellans are basically factory ready to go.

To Matt - who started this thread. I see you are leaning toward another gun not on this list. I have not tested that gun and can't comment on it. However, as I say to anyone who asks, buy one that I listed and all the others gave great feedback about, and you can't go wrong.

Dctrjayyy, who’s your team? Club members or you do tournaments together? Just curious. Have you shot the Sea Sniper Customs in testing or are you talking about the rear handles? I just got a 67” and haven’t got to test or use it yet. Seems like it will be fun to shoot at some wahoos this winter though.

Hey everyone, just a quick update: Picked up the gun today and dammmnnnnn..... more beautiful than I remembered. Got it setup with 4 x 14mm small id bands at 330% stretch and running an 11/32 Mori shaft with Mori slip tip. Double wrapped to breakaway. It is ready to slay and I can't wait to get out in the water with it. Hope these pictures do this gun justice.

I mean it's possible but probably unlikely. There are multiple examples of big bluewater guns that have band risers like that and I haven't heard of mono getting caught.

Just guys who dive together, we are in 2 different clubs.

We tried the 67 SSP. It looked like a really well put together gun and I'm sure you could dial it in no problem. We also tried the 130 SSR. I know they make quality stuff.
