Re: Ulusub AR-15 Handle Frames

Cool idea, Jon. Is there a benefit for a mid handle?
I would assume this is a way to get a precise and custom fit- for a direct end purpose?
Neat to be able to easily swap a right hand target grip for a left, or general use.
Any suggestions on which Ar15 handles work best?
Thanks!

Re: Ulusub AR-15 Handle Frames

Sure. You can't beat the variety of grips available to the AR-15 Market. Some AR-15 Grips come with a Tang that you can remove and sand, but any flat top Grips will fit perfectly. There are a few Ergonometric Grips, Not sure if I've seen a Lefty anywhere. There are also a few grips which are Rubber Overmoulded like the Hogue Grip. That's a nice one. Look on some of the Gun parts sites. There are a few Target Grips. Seems like new stuff everyday.

I ordered one of these. You have to dremel off the top though so that it fits with the frame.

I will say though that the grip doesn't angle back as much as I would like. It's a little too vertical. If I had caught it during the build I think I would have put the grip frame at a bit of an angle to compensate. If that makes sense.

Re: Ulusub AR-15 Handle Frames

It does. I'm wondering if I can modify the grip to seat at a different angle, but for $50 I'm wondering if it's worth the risk.

Would be pretty tricky to modify the grip with the angle of the bolt hole in the grip. I thought that maybe sloping the angle of the grip frame mortise. It shoots fine as is though, just could be angled a little more.
