My sincere condolences to you Chad. I remember seeing your mom driving your boat at the state tournament years ago. I asked my buddy who is that lady driving the boat and he said "She is bad ass, She is Chad's Mom"
Godspeed Mrs. P

I think that sums up what a lot of us thought about her. I've seen them pounding around on that boat many times.

My condolences to the family.

Re: A very sad day...Johnnie Palan (Chad's Mom) is in heaven now - RIP

Very sad to realize that Johnni will never again be waiting for us at the dock with her cooler in the morning.....or there to point me in the right direction when I look up at her from the water. Mostly, I feel sad for Chad who lost his best captain, his biggest cheerleader, a Mom who was always in his corner. On the other hand, they shared something good while she was alive, and she will never be forgotten. I spent many years listening to her cheers when we got fish, her insults when we weren't producing, and hearing all about her latest "crush". I have a bright orange towel she gave me from when she was in love with Tony Stewart (his NASCAR color). She was full of life, passion, piss and vinegar, and that is how I will remember her.

Once in awhile, the thought crossed my mind that what she did on the boat was more impressive than what any of us were doing underwater, and that WE should be taking photos of HER, instead of the other way around. Wish I had taken more, but here are a few. Fair winds and following seas, Mom. I wish I could have said good-bye. It will never be the same without you at the helm.

Wow, what a tremendous outpouring, she seems like an unbelievable lady. Deepest condolences extended to Chad, family and friends of this Super-Spearo-Mom.
