"The Hull From Hell"

Me and Cory G struck out Monday at noon to Ft. Lauderdale in search of a new "Still Floatin". It was a long ass drive to say the least but I was determined not to come back home empty-handed.

The highlight of the trip was when we tried to go to a nudie bar but it was a porno movie place instead, then the liquor store closed 15 minutes early so I wasn't able to get any Scotch in Ft. Pierce and 1:45 in the morning.

1800 mi and 40 Red Bulls later we finally made it back home with the "Hull From Hell".

I purchased a Yah- hamama today from ol' buddy Jim Richard and tomorrow I get rid of that big white anckor on the back.

I want to strip the boat but am recieving strong opposition. I think that the rig poker on the front has to go as well and the bow railing and leaning post.

Today we had a 25 knot wind on the lake and it was perfect to see how this baby handles the rough stuff. I was impressed to say the least, we barely got any spray (not that I mind spray, I'm wet already), but this boat just blasted across the 3ft. chop, probably the most Lake Pontchartrain has to offer. The bracket on the back is at such an angle you can almost touch the motor to the bottom of the hull and bury the bow. I think it's still gonna get tabs though, just cause I feel like it.

I'm ready to quit spilling beer on this one and start spilling blood.

Think I'll name it "Rok's Ride".

Nice wheels, Rok. Too many rod holders and not enough shade but I am sure you can fix that.

Awesome ride Louis. I see that little Louie has taken dibs on the captain's seat. I'm sure that gelcoat on the sides is not long for this world after you and Papa Smurf start dragging big pigs over the gunwales! That thing looks way too clean for a coonass.

It's called "FEMA" and lot's of whining..... LOL.....
With what their spending to house so many of NO still out of work/home/life people, they could buy everyone a nice boat fully equiped.....

Nice ride, gonna make a SAWEET dive rig!!

Re: "The Hull From Hell"

Looks good Louis. We've got a post Katrina T-top ourselves. Quick question since you just bought a boat. Why Ft. Luaderdale? I know a lot of Louisiana boats are hurricane damaged, but I thought Florida would have their share too. Did you know something/someone down there or were you just confident you'd be able to tell if a boat was a P.O.S.? I have a couple guys that lost boats in Katrina looking to buy used, but they have no confidence that they won't get a damaged boat.

I've been shopping boattraderonline.com for about a year now, Anything that looked worth a damn was from South Fla. I printed out pages with around 10 boats and went for the one I like best first. Didin't have to go any further.

We can't even find Dusky's around here and I've always liked the way they look.

If I could figure out a better way to get them back, there were other great deals down there too. Some of the other Hell Divers need boats also.

I'd like to start making this my pilgrimage every 3 years or so.

Oh yeah, and FEMA didn't pay for shit. Sounds like someones just jealous.

Good luck. I had my Dusky 10 years and was the third owner. The fourth is still enjoying it.

10-4.

Hey, how long do you think a blue tarp would work as T-top? I got a hunch you know where to find some.

Re: "The Hull From Hell"

The blue tarp is a good idea, but if you secure the top with nails it would look similar to the old boat "still floatin". And who wants to steal a hurricane damaged boat.

P.S. The rock stole my lobsters!!!
