DIY Gun Case

Found an old yoga mat some girl left at my house
And got an idea, just got a new gun and it was so purdy didnt want it gettin beat up when transporting it.

60 inches of 4" PVC $10
2 4" End caps $14
2 Hinges $3
Not sure how much the Yoga mat was lol but i had enough for a whole other case if i wanted to make another.
Got the pop rivets for free from my step dads boat shop.

This was my end result.
It'll do the trick i think.

I just used silicone for the yoga mat. It stayed in surprisingly well without anything but I figured silicone would do the trick. We'll see how it holds up thought about using 5200 hundred if the silicone fails.

Re: DIY Gun Case

Personally, I would have used the end caps as the latch. You know, kept them intact so I could close the clam shell, slide on the end caps to keep it closed. Good idea though. I may have to see if I can "borrow" my wife's yoga mat for something like this....

Re: DIY Gun Case

Looks good, great Idea.
Have you thought of protecting the protruding handel by adding a "T" fitting and cap, ( You probably wouldnt even have to slice it in half, insert the handle and drop the barrel into the one hald, and close).

I thought of this to begin with but once I ripped the PVC down the middle the end pieces are too lose to keep a tight fit. I didn't photograph it but its kept shut with Velcro

Hey Dibs, where did you get the hinges? Big box hardware store? Marine Store?

Looks good!
