Gulfing 25/26 Sept

Been out of the fishing scene for awhile, last Thursday packed up the old man and headed down to SWFL to blow some bubbles. Woke up to calm seas and headed out to 130'.
Got a little freshwater wash down, but it cleared up nicely and we went to work

Looking for blacks, none to be found. Settled for some grovers to 10 pounds and red grupas.

Got up early the next morning and got after it again. Picked a em all day, nice gags and reds on every dive. Dad and I dove our last tank on a small mark on the sounder we picked up on the way in, and it was money. Pop made it down first, by the time I got there he was wrestling a 30" red, and there were three more just sitting there watching. I helpe him get the first one on the bag and sent him up, then waited for him to reload. Two of them were right next to each other, I gave the 1-2-3 finger count and we popped em, bagged em and sent em up. Through it all a fourth one sat there in the cloud of dust and watched. He was quickly dispatched with spring steel and sent up. Cold beer and and high fives as the sun went down. My old man is 65, and is still making 70 to 80 dives a year. And I'm blessed to still be able to shoot fish with him.

Done with cleanup by 11, trash talk and spirits flowed freely.
