Freeport, TX Fishin Fiesta
Here is the website for the spearfishing at the Fishin Fiesta spearfishing categories and prizes.
http://www.fishinfiesta.com/index.p...&id=6&Itemid=42 And here is the regulations. http://www.fishinfiesta.com/index.p...&id=3&Itemid=35 I am not sure if I will be entering but I will see how the weather looks later in the week. If I am going to be diving anyway it might be worth $35 with a chance to win a little. |

Re: Freeport, TX Fishin Fiesta
The thing about it was that all the fishing that placed from from the same boat that only had three divers which went out Wednesday and Friday. But those where two really flat days. I have talked to Mike and they ran about 80 miles both days to get those fish. Mike also got a new state record African Pampano(sp) to beat the old record by about 4 lbs. which was his own. This was the Lion Club first year they only had a few months to get everything together before the tournment.
I have talked with Mike a few times this last week and he said that Hydrosports Scuba would be willing to help out to make the spearfishing tournement at the Fishin Fiesta better next year. Possibling contacting some on the speargun and scuba manufactures about adding gear to the prizes in addition to the cash. |
