Sweet are you doing all of it on your own? That looks good.

It's hard to tell in the pic, but due to the design of these boats, in order to convert to bracketed outboards you either live with the crazy (and old) stern, and do a bunch of patching and bracing and get a custom bracket or literally cut the back of the boat off. I chose the latter. Here's some more info. http://www.cssims.com/25_bertram_transom_mods.htm Here's what it looked like. A different view from the above link. Note the transom is curved. There's a bump out for the outdrives. There's a chine that wraps around and below the chine is on an entirely different plane. We basically cut that bump out off and in the process the hull is a few inches shorter.... well, at least until I bolt a bracket on her. |

Awesome project. Im about a year out from mine being done. I have a 1966 john allmand 23' that i stripped to a bare shell, new foam filled fiberglass box stringer grid, new corelite transom, nida core decks, complete custom center console cap (was originally a windshield boat), hermco fiberglass dual engine bracket etc. Im going to build a custom 3 sided doghouse/pilot house center console for it with glass windows. Doing it all myself, literally lol already 2.5 years in.

I've spent a lot of time in that barn your boat was in.

Hey, I believe it. She does have a nice ass now. She's whipped up into the right shape and lost a couple hundred pounds in the making. I think I'm gonna call the new transom... The Kardashian... |

Hell no it is way too flat and I wouldn’t think of commenting on the black monsters clinging to rear.

CuzzA,
Could you give me the contact info of the shop or person doing the work on your boat, or recommend another? I am going to restore a flats skiff (1989 Dolphin) this winter. No significant glass work, just gel coat and/or paint. Thanks, Mark |

I'm between jobs now until 7/9. Anyone need glass/core/transom work let me know. I work with coosa, Nida and good old ply. I prefer epoxy for strength and it's ability to adhere to most anything. Pics on request. Built three commercial boats. I won't work with foam.
