Re: Daily Vis Report Thread

Dove Newport yesterday. Visibility was about 12 feet for one hour and then it got to about 5 feet as the tide was moving.
Sakonnet lighthouse this morning was pretty hazy about 6 feet.
Lots of big togs. Saw one just-a-tad-too-small bass and got an albie.

Re: Daily Vis Report Thread

Beavertail this afternoon, bottom of tide. Initially vis was around 8-9, dropped to 4-5 as tide picked up. Shot two togs. My bad for not realizing BSB were open again as of today... some nice ones hanging on the bottom. Many stripers seen, all small. Lots of scup around too. Water still quite warm... almost too toasty in my 5mm.

Castle Hill, newport - viz 4ft Cold wind, chop, heavy current... Togs are still here, but hiden in the murk.
PS: scuba guys on the black inflatable, I can't convince you to not shot fish using tanks, but would you use individual flags, when you dive in murky water, please?! For your own safety.

45-55 feet is loaded with solid tog. I cant get there diving so I'm cheating with a rod and reel. Most boats easily hitting the 10 tog limit.

Keep an eye out there is a decent number of keeper Cod around.

From the boat the anchor is visibly to 20' down so vis should be good.

Re: Daily Vis Report Thread

Hi New England folks—went out for the first time this year on Sat at Ft Wetherill to try out a new 7mm. Watch said it was 39-42 degrees on the incoming with viz 8-12’. Dicked around for two hours and threw some clams and uni in the catch bag. Zero fish as expected but was kind of hoping to see a random cod. Saw lots of moon snails, which I hear are edible but haven’t tried yet...

Re: Daily Vis Report Thread

Opened season last weekend in Jamestown, went second time today morning to Watch Hill. No any fish seen yet. Ocean clear and cold. Enjoyed the dive anyway.
Looking forward for warm water.

Tog opened April first this year. Have been seeing and spearing them for awhile now. check in deep holes and you will find them. Schoolie bass are being caught in Narragansett and off second beach.
