Re: Sherpa are out in force!

Kick ass catchin'! Those Sherpa ain't easy to hook.

I mean to brag, but I caught 14 hogfish one day. Our limit was kept of the biggest ones...and there were MANY big ones to choose from. EPIC day. I've had a few more almost similar days.

Congrats on the catch, They're a good fight.

You catch the hogs on live shrimp, or what?

Na AH!!! I didn't mean it that way. I'm sorry.
Like I said, VERY nice catch. Stop being a dick, Tyson.

Caught them on pieces of shrimp w/ small jig head...sometimes w/ a bit of smelly artificial. There's another trick that is dependent upon how the fish eats. That's all the clues I can give.

It's still funny, even when you put a sad face.

I was searching for a train, but the panda is hilarious.

Small (I think 1 or 1/0) long shank J hook, 40 pound leader, 10-20 pound test, all mono. Egg sinker. I was using a Penn Battle II reel and No. 8 Tackle rod - very nice, attractively priced setup.

NOT MINE! LOL - one of the guys with us caught that first and then nothing for 30 minutes, so he was thinking that may be it for him for the day and kept it - then the Sherpa started biting hard.

We caught the sherpa on shrimp -they WERE live when we bought them - threw them on ice, mostly dead by the time we got out there - just cut them in half and put them on the hook - worked like a charm.

We were shocked when we pulled it up and weighed it. Had a few that were 5.5lbs - 8lbs as well. I've never caught that many fish on one small little bit of rock, and after striking out most of the time in Hernando county it was nice to go one county north and really nail them.

That 9 pounder filleted out like a grouper!
