Water Clarity

Hey New to the area, hunting out of port canaveral area. I don't have the luxury of going out every day and checking how the water clarity is so I was wondering if any body has any tips on good water. I dive in recreational depths, free dive and scuba. I used to dive out of Panama, around the full moon at the end of an incoming tide produced some pretty good water but that has not held true for me here so far. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

Re: Water Clarity

Sorry to tell you this..but its been really cold ( <60 degs ) and the vis is crap right now with the thermocline but it looks like it might be starting to clear as long as this depression doesn't ruin it again !! I am speaking of Port Canaveral north to Daytona. Lot of divers on here will give a good honest vis and temp report and depth they were diving but don't expect gps numbers !!

Re: Water Clarity

Today and yesterday the vis was 40 to 50 ft in Ponce with temps in the low 60's. In my opinion that is damn sweet..That probably did not help u much figuring a pattern, because there is none that I know of.

Re: Water Clarity

Thanks guys, I was really looking for some sort of pattern to follow. I guess its just a matter of putting as much bottom time in as possible and logging the days. I appreciate the help.
