Re: Current Vis Islamorada 73MM - Key Largo 106MM
Hopefully the winds would fade out by Thursdays. If anyone is going out on Friday, could you send out a report? It would be great. Looking to go out on Saturday.
Thanks

7-1-12 report:
Location: Snapper Ledge, Key Largo Depth: 31ft Vis: 40ft Winds: 0-5knot Waves: 1ft Water temp: 82F Boat: 33' Stamas Clear skies Went out and caught 5 mahi, then came back in and blew a bottle at snapper ledge. Re: Current Vis Islamorada 73MM - Key Largo 106MM
I was in matecumbe yesterday in about 30 ft of water and the visibility was pretty bad maybe 20 ft couldn't see bottom from surface. Seas were flat but i guess the bottom was still crazy from the storms all of last week.

8-4-12 report:
Location: Tavernier Depth: 15-60ft Vis: 50-60ft Winds: 0-5kts Waves: 0-1ft Boat: 27? Sea-Vee Weather: Clear skies until 4pm, then a big storm rolled in. Went out and checked a ton of spots. Ended up with 1 nice black, a decent red, 7 hogs, a lionfish, and a just legal 10" snapper. Then we went out to deep water (60ft) and got on scuba. Went down and shot 4 hogs within 5 minutes. 1 hog got off (free shafting) and swam away, the other was victim to a nurse shark, which almost got my hands. The shark would not leave us alone, and was actually being very aggressive, I assume since it could see the fish on the stringer. Someone free dove down and told us to come down because there was a big storm coming in. It got dark down there once we started surfacing and the seas picked up to probably 3-4ft and the skies opened up. We got back and our end result was a black, a red, 9 hogs, a lion fish and a tiny snapper (legal). Last edited by djsmits305; 08-04-2012 at 03:59 PM. |
