Re: California Dive Boats -- the legend of Radon (pictures)

JBuck- My buddy's 19 has a 200 on it and to be honest, after riding on it now for a few times, it's hard to imagine that boat with any less horsepower? No doubt your center console would be lighter than his full cabin, but....? Just something to think about.

Speaking of the 19, here's some shots from yesterday-

Yes. That is the one you had the build thread on bloody decks. It's the boat that made me buy/start my own project.

I think that honda is over 100 lbs more then that yamaha.

Can someone tell me where a good place to buy rub rail is? Also for my Wilson 26, what size rub rail works? The guys before me used PVC pipe cut in half and put it on with a heat gun......
Thanks

Anderson's will usually have some to sell, or perhaps Fiberglass Hawaii in Ventura?

Anyone with an account with TACO and it varies with the width of the hull/deck joint and bow deck thickness.

I probably have some in stock that would work on your boat Tommy. We've got a 3/4", 1" and, 1 1/2" rigid vinyl rub rails in stock right now. The problem with ordering onesie twosie pieces of railing is the shipping. The traditional rubrail you see on most of the Radon/Anderson/Wilson comes in 20' sticks that have to ship truck freight from the east coast. Have a look at Barbour Plastics they are where TACO sources their extrusions from. I can get any of the shapes, but it'll take a while (we only order about once a year).

Jeff and Sven, Thx for the info.

Ed,
Thanks for your reply. I think that I may need 3/4" but am confused by all the shapes and sizes that I see when I do research on rub rail. I'll try and stop by your shop and take a look next time I'm in S.B.. Thank You

I'd run up to Goleta Tommy to check it out. That HDPE rubrail that they use is just what you're looking for. Something about that rubrail just finishes a boat off...

Don't know why anyone would want it but I'll post it up here: 52 x 56 (HEAVY) engine hatch from 26' Wilson.........FREE.
No takers and its off to the dump. I just ordered one made from diamond plate aluminum.

^^throw a wine barrel, or two, underneath and you've got an instant back yard mini-bar.

It would make a good cleaning table, or a heavy T-Top
