Some Gamefish Trivia: 6/11/19
...The first Bluefin was hooked up off San Clemente Island; a 100 pounder lost at gaff...largest Bluefin so far off San Diego was a 309 lb brute...Mahi-Mahi and large schools of yellowtail within 45 miles of San Diego;
...Yellowfin are in U.S. waters just below the 43 bank ;more Yellowfin being caught than Bluefin; lots of yellowtail on the inside of Catalina, with white sea bass and yellows up the backside and along both ends of the island; same at San Clemente island with good action near Pyramid Head. Water temps going up again into the 63-64 degree range with some hot spots showing. The trophy size yellows are on Tanner Bank at present. ...Water is dirty along the coast out to about 7 miles...gets bluer with some purple tuna water below San Clemente island....Time to go hunting.. ...West Marine has a 20 percent off sale: just stocked up on 4-cycle 30 wt. oil, hydraulic steering fluid and lower unit gear oil for my Yamaha outboards..
