Lobster Diving Video PB August

A video from last weekend - catching some lobsters. Current started out mild and got pretty strong toward the end of the day.

Pretty mellow, until my son decides to shoot a Permit out from under a 9-ft Lemon Shark. Don't remember ever seeing a permit schooling with a shark like that before? I thought he was lining up on a cobia, but he made a long shot, it did not hold and I had to make a quick choice to make the second shot.

I did not see the shark at all after the shot and assumed he left, but he scared the crap out of me when he popped up, swimming at me and about 2-3 feet away. The Go Pro makes things look further away than they are.

Oh yeah holding a fish while someone else stabs it is a good way to get a hole in your thumb..

Cool video. Love the father and son stuff.

I don't think you carry enough shit with you.. clearly you need more things from the dive shop to tangle your gun line in

Yeah the (recent) addition of the lionfish container, is really getting a little crazy. A lot of the guys are managing most of all that PLUS a scooter and towing the floatline/reel. It is a lot to deal with.

Just hire a valet to haul your stuff around behind you while you shoot. Problem solved.

Thx for sharing Jim. Fun to watch. That current was RIPPING. I have been out chasing bugs the last bit and have yet to hit the deeper stuff because the current has been so bad out there. Makes it even harder to stay untagled
