How do you like to fix a gun shooting high?
How do you guys like to fix guns that are shooting a bit high? The track is good and straight and in line with the mech, but my buddy says its shooting high. Setup is a 105 roller, 5/8 rubber preloaded around 20%, 7.5mm rob Allen shaft with little overhang at the muzzle, enclosed track.

There's many factors that can make a roller shoot innacurate. If you post detailed pictures, we can help you better.
If it is shooting straight, normally a longer shaft should correct the aiming problem.

Try sighting down the side of the gun instead of over the top, that should tell you if it is shooting straight or indeed shooting high.
If it is shooting straight, then you will have to figure out the sight picture to hit where you want it to go. Going with a little longer spear/overhang might help adjust the sight picture more to what you are used to. If it is indeed shooting high, then I am not experienced with roller guns to give you any advise other than what gspearguns was hinting at with the flopper. edit: Marco was posting while I was typing

Honestly...you dont have sights on your gun...but if you did...it would be the same, how you align the sights, if you are shooting a gun and consistently off you can adjust the sights higher or lower or just align them differently to achieve the same goal...On a spear gun, with no sights, change the way you sight down the gun till you have it tuned in....

Re: How do you like to fix a gun shooting high?
I think the first thing i would try is a longer shaft. I have tried using a gun a few times with a short shaft overhang and I had significant accuracy problems. I suspect it was primarily associated with my own trouble with aiming and sighting rather than the actual characteristics of the gun itself.

What I'd like to do is have him mess around with his shaft/bands until it shoots more like the other guns he's used to. Maybe a longer shaft and switch the 16mm band to a 14mm band? |

Maybe a longer shaft will do the trick. Being an enclosed track, I don't think band thickness will affect much.

Re: How do you like to fix a gun shooting high?
Thanks for the feedback here, yeah I know bands & shaft are usually what you want to try first, I was just curious if there was some sneaky trick out there to altering how a gun shoots. I think the shaft is definitely worth trying first.

Use double flopper shaft.
