converting Garmin 32 bit data card to the new format SD cards
Looking for a service to convert Garmin 32 bit data cards to the newer SD cards.
I talked to Garmin tech Services, they dont do it or know anyone that does. They say you need an old 32bit computer running windows 10. I tried that to no avail. need a computer geek. |

Email me: butch@dggus.com. I can probably help you. I have a couple of old but functional garmin units that I can interface with an old laptop.

Why do you need to "convert" the card? I'm curious because we have a Garmin and we're getting an error with the new micro SD chip we put in. Wondering if it's a similar problem maybe.

No. In the beginning each mfg had there own idea of how to store info, Garmin used a data card that has not been "supported" for a couple decades. Now everyone has agreed on a standard, and that is SD cards ( as I understand it) I am trying to move info from the data card to a SD card.

Contact Carl Andren at Andren.com. He will likely know how to do it.
