Tuna Clip

Does anyone know if there is a way to attach a float line which has a closed swivel to the terminal end of a tuna clip, I know I could purchase a horseshoe shackle, but is there an easy way to get something in to that terminal end....

Thanks,

P

Re: Tuna Clip

I've used shackles, quick links, and loops of cable. I don't think there are other good options.

The first photos shows a shackle connecting to a tuna clip on the rear and a loop of cable connected to a snap swivel on the front end.

The third photo shows a quick link. Its not connected to a tuna clip or swivel, but it could be.

Re: Tuna Clip

The "correct" way would be a shackle or quick link. Soft links are here to stay though, and I would be totally comfortable with a loop of spectra tied with a constricting double fisherman's knot or similar. Crimped cable or mono could work, however fatigue is scary (which is why rigid links are usually used, no fatigue if it doesn't flex). These are all the rage right now on boats: http://l-36.com/soft_shackle_9.php
Easy to make, strong as hell, silent, easy to release after loading.
