Flf cat5 sling with line release

Anyone used one of these fancy Hawaiian slings from Florida Freedivers?

Re: Flf cat5 sling with line release

I've handled them in the shop but never shot one.
They are nicely made; the track is poured epoxy, the line release simply relies on pressure from the spear to hold it in position, so there's nothing to go wrong there.
The drawback is what's typical to most pistol-grip style slings. If you want to run a strong band, you put a lot of off-center torque on the forward hand/wrist, and you wind up wasting a lot of your strength holding the sling on target. Others have come up with better solutions, IMO.

The Koah Sling MX has a brace to help stop that.
