I cannot comprehend how these videos are so common. Or the one where a fella is filming his buddy... pointing right at them with a loaded speargun.

The GoPro mounts turn, why does no body turn them to make filming safe?

Why not just get a selfie stick?

And what's with the bandana over his head?

Second that. It's pretty important to look cool though... wouldn't want the fish to think less of him...

Wow, after watching that crap video the video that auto-plays on my phone after is 100x worse. This guy points the camera/gun at his buddy while the buddy shoots a lobster. How has this guy not been reported https://youtu.be/bPfXKr_zCtk

This is unreal. Here are some highlights:
-Points gun at fellow diver's spine
-Dive buddy spears a lobster
-Dive buddy does a fist pump after spearing a damn lobster
-Super slow-mo kill cam on a short sand bass
-Super slow-mo kill cam on an opaleye

Then this dude manages to get a (probably) legal WSB. There is no karma.

You forgot to point out that at the beginning the gun he picks up off the deck is loaded. It was chilling there leaned up for god knows how long. Bet that's how he stores it too.

As a big fan of barely legal WSB, I can tell you that was definitely a 30+" fish

Oh goodness I have some good stuff. Not instagram per se but hilarious nontheless.

Found this on the spearfishing subreddit. First two comments are so money.

When trying to research MPAs and spots in Santa Cruz Island for an upcoming trip I found this gold. What makes it is not only the video, but also the product advertising directly written into the blog.

I know it's hypocritical to laugh at these people since we were all like this at one time but these are too good to pass up.

"A hit! My three-pronged trident struck the perch cleanly through its gills; pinned it to a rock protruding from the ocean floor. In one swift move, I lunged forward and clamped my hand around the end of the spear to secure our dinner. Next I reached down and grabbed my dive knife and pushed its point through the fish’s skull for a clean, humane kill. There is no more fulfilling feeling than a successful hunt!"

Hell yea
