Shore dives
I was looking at reef rangers map of artificial reefs. There are a few that look like they could be shore dives in between Pensacola beach and Navarre. Has anybody tried to spear in this area from shore?

Re: Shore dives
I've shore dived at Fort Meyers and done pretty well. It was only after that that we realized it's not allowed there. Better check into local regulations before you shore dive in those areas.

Re: Shore dives
I believe the artificial reefs in Navarre are only legal to spear by boat (not from the shore).

Re: Shore dives
Well it looks like I’m going to have to get the kayak decked out for diving. I’ve been fishing out of it for 6 years. It’s definitetly a different set up. I’ve got the right size flag with a stiffener. I need to get the appropriate line and or reel to attach myself to the yak.

Re: Shore dives
Alabama Point jetty is legal to spear. Not too bad of a drive from there. Can be decent at times.

Re: Shore dives
Sweet. I'll add that to the list. I found a list of artificial reef coordinates for escambia county. Are there reefs out there around Pensacola/Destin that are illegal to spear?

Re: Shore dives
Best rig for shore dives...inflatable, “Banks” type board, SUP, or just a torpedo float and fins?
