Even in Orca societies there will be a few that are too lazy to work and choose to steal from others rather than be a productive member of society.
Glad the diver was okay but I would never dive without at least one knife.

Good thing the orca only grabbed the bag and not his arm too or it could have been a lot worse .. diving without a knife is just plain ignorance... Never dive without a knife ...

If you are going to swim around with a catch bagged attached to you , you had better use a shackle that can be released under load. You can find them where sailboat rigging hardware is sold made of SS.

Killer Manatee ..... That sounds like a good story for a horror movie.

Re: THat's why they call them killer whales

Ironically my wife and I watched a documetary about the Sea World Whales... very interesting. There have been 3 deaths of trainers in the last 20 years of trainers by Orca's... as well as over 80 severe injuries where the whales act aggressively towards their trainers. There was this one time where an orca grabbed a trainer by his foot and took him down 60' several times for well over a minute. The trainer never lost his cool... in the video you can see him do breath-ups while he's on the surface... then bloop... down he goes. It was f-ing scary to watch.. that trainer had balls of steel. the documentary is called "Blackfish" and you can watch it on Netflix streaming.
