slip tip slightly bent
Most people wouldnt even notice. Will this be a problem for me on long distance shots? Going offshore tomorrow and just noticed. The tip never really sat right from the get go. Its a neptonics tip. I dont want to shoot a wahoo with a flopper.

Re: slip tip slightly bent
I have bent a few. I used a vice and gently hammered it back straight.

Re: slip tip slightly bent
If it were me, Id buy a new one. I cant see how it wouldn't affect your shot.

Re: slip tip slightly bent
You can hand tune a tip. Not sure what the issue is here. If the Male of the Base is bent, that's a different treatment and involved straightening. But if it's that the Tip is not sitting perfectly on the base, you can tune. Unscrew the tip. Put the Tip in a vice Upside Down(use something so you don't marr it up.) You want it down enough in the vice that if you put the base in and tighten the vice you can grab the Base with the pressure. The Fins should still be above the vice jaws.) Figure out what is off center. Tune using the vice. There's a little spring in the steel so you need to go over in order to get what you want in resting state. Rotate the tip.
